Join Thames Turbo Triathalon
Welcome! We are a family friendly triathlon club catering to both adults and juniors. We are based out of the very popular Hampton pool, between Kingston-upon-Thames and Twickenham in South West London.
As a club we believe in helping people improve their swimming, cycling and running and encouraging our juniors to race in triathlons and other multisport events. Our sessions are all in the early evenings Saturday and Sunday mornings, so they easily fit around busy working and family lives.
How To Join
We have a number of options to join us but if you are new to the club these two options are most likely most useful.
Two Week Free Trial
We offer a two-week trial period for prospective members, giving you the opportunity to try out some of the training sessions to see whether you enjoy them and wish to join the Club. You are more than welcome to join any or all of our sessions for 2 weeks.
Please contact us on the form below so we can make sure we have availability on your session of choice and we can make sure the relevant coach can welcome you. Click here for free 2 week trial.
We have a number of membership options that allow access to all our facilities and sessions to the more social triathlete. Complete novices may want to try our 5 week novice course that concludes in their first actual triathlon race.
Training For All Levels Of Triathletes
Our club has a very broad range of members from 8 yrs old to 80+, social to serious, novice to international. They are all combined by comradeship and the love of swim, bike, run.
Our coaches are experts at helping you to develop, whether you are a novice triathlete or a multi finisher Iron Man our Senior Training Sessions are there to help you.
Our Race Series
One of the reasons club membership is such great value is because of our highly successful race series. The race series was voted London's best triathlon by the BTF (British Triathlon Federation) in 2017. We encourage all our members to race one of the home races, and marshal in another. Having a reliable regular race is a great way of bench-marking your gains.
Our first Race is part of the London League. The London League is a group of races in different multi-sport events (triathlon, duathlon and aquathlon). The races are managed by different clubs under the BTF’s supervision. For all of the London League races we have a strong turnout of Turbos and the support is excellent.
Other Competitions - Club Championships
We have our own club championships based on a series of local races and time trials for swimming, biking and running as well as triathlons and duathlon's. The championships are raced in good humour and gives the opportunity for the club to race together allowing for plenty of healthy banter.

Minimum Requirements And Responsibilities
There are very few restrictions to our training program. Our two week trial period is designed help both and the club make sure we are a good fit. However we do ask that as a minimum:
- You can swim 100m front crawl, This is not a speed test, simply a competency test.
- Should you wish to join us on a Sunday you should be confident in cycling on a road for a distance of at least 20km at 24 km per hour
Volunteering A Key Responsibility
You will have noticed our fees are very low. They are low because we run a Race series and the profits gained from these events are used to subsidise membership fees.
In order for the races to be a success the club asks that you volunteer a few hours on the evening before a race and the morning of 1 of our races.
Marshaling duties is dead easy and good fun, of course there is a bacon sandwich and cup tea available for you hard work.
